[log] Event: Lavender's Green, Part Two [open]

Characters: everyone
Location: mysterious, white hallways
Date: Day 193-194
Summary: Find friends. Get lost. Don't look.
Warnings: Potential for gore and psychological horror. Please note any specific warnings in your subject lines!

While confusingly similar, the area is split into a few different sections:

The Core
The hallways here are narrow and twist at a rapid rate. With how dazzlingly white everything is, it's easy to not realize you're coming on a turn and slam right into the walls. There are no rooms here--no one starts here, though they may find it while they wander. At the center is a large, round area, like the center of a spiral. There's a lot of air pressure here.

The Inner Hallways
The largest area, filled with dead ends, gentle slopes and twists, and, occasionally, difficult-to-see drops where a higher hallway intersects with a lower one without a wall to separate them. The whole place tastes vaguely like blood. Most rooms are here--most people start here.

The Outer Hallways
The outer ring of the ball of yarn. It's not as thick with halls and twists as the other two areas, leading to a lot more boring walking in one direction. It's totally possible to circle around the same path multiple times without realizing it, as everything is so similar here. Occasionally, footsteps can be heard just outside the farthest walls. Sometimes, something breathes. There are a few rooms here--some people will start here.

Remember to note what kind of eyes your character has in their top level!

[He stays quiet as the other teen gasps and coughs and gets blood everywhere, a frightened edge of unease settling over how he continues to stare Kid down. This isn't painting a good picture for general safety.]

Who did this to you?

[More importantly, where were they? Was it something here in this godforsaken maze? He certainly hopes not.]

[Her hands are empty. Good. Okay. Its a small comfort, enough for him to slowly lower his own arm and tuck it back around his chest with a grimace of pain.]

I don't know.

Something had to have done it, though. Something, or someone. We didn't go quarantining ourselves.

This place has enough horrifying things as it is, though. Guess it's hard not to say it's just the town's fault.

[Sherlock is pretty good at holding on even when people are struggling, so it's relatively easy for him to pull Lutha out into one of the many corridors where the pressure is less.]

What answers were you finding on the floor incapable of moving?

That doesn't fucking matter! [So: nothing.] Getting waylaid doesn't change the fact that I'm not taking an easier path just because it's going to be less fucking painful-- [He'll attempt to shove himself out of Sherlock's grip again, gloved fingers now digging in earnest at his wrist.]

Not completely accurate ones, as there's no way of knowing for sure how many people have chosen to kill themselves and not informed the network.

[He shrugs, but he does what he can with flawed data.]

However, observing the morgue experiments as one stream of data, tells us that everyone who has willingly put themselves in that position has revived. Perhaps they have died in other ways and not revived at a later date, but they have always returned after a deliberate and wilful risk to their lives.

Yes, it is. You really think needing to write something down was a good enough reason?
definingfuture: (IM - I'd like to see you do better.)

[personal profile] definingfuture 2017-01-11 08:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes. I do.
armoured: (thin] with armour)

wow now I'm sad ty

[personal profile] armoured 2017-01-11 08:59 pm (UTC)(link)
It's not like I'm hard to see.

[He is not accepting blame for this, he sticks out against an all-white surrounding.]

And I'm Al, Alphonse Elric, who are you?
theurgy: (21)

[personal profile] theurgy 2017-01-11 09:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Sure, might as well wander aimlessly with someone else as alone.

[So off into the maze they go!]

[personal profile] armoured 2017-01-11 09:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Then you're an idiot.
definingfuture: (Default - I never sleep.)

[personal profile] definingfuture 2017-01-11 09:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Genius, actually. I was seeing if we could connect to the home network.
definingfuture: (T - Sometimes I just hate you.)

[personal profile] definingfuture 2017-01-11 09:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I thought I was going to kill you.

[And if Tony sounds like a man who is breathless in his attempts not to cry about that, Lutha doesn't have to know why.]

I thought you were going to die with me holding you here. Cut off.
jumpthegun: (angry | you envy me)

[John does recognize that list. His girlfriend with the dog had made sure he knew about them.]

So, you treat your prisoners like animals. [John's tone is very cool, and he flicks his eye to Bucky.] He just listed off the humane society freedoms for animals.

[personal profile] peacemongering 2017-01-11 09:20 pm (UTC)(link)
[Who said anything about treating prisoners that way? He simply believed in the five freedoms, nothing more, nothing less. It's application was up to interpretation, and he wasn't at all surprised that it was seen as insult or somehow applied to the Soldier himself.

So sensitive! Like he might turn around and managed to kill people that were undeserving.]

You are putting words in my mouth, Doctor. When did I say any of this applied to anyone but the animals?
advanced: (determined)

[personal profile] advanced 2017-01-11 09:22 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't trust anyone else to do it.
advanced: (annoyed)

[personal profile] advanced 2017-01-11 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)
[His jaw clenches, seeing the same insult in that which John had seen. But the Soldier hadn't really been an animal, just like he hadn't been human in the eyes of HYDRA, he was a tool. Literally. An asset, a weapon to be pointed wherever they saw fit.

So it made some twisted sense that those rules didn't apply to him.]

He's right, he doesn't care about human beings at all.

You don't consider that on hold here?

Can you remember where you've been here? All the halls look the same.

[John turns his glare to Pierce once more.]

You mentioned it into connection to how you were being treated, Mr. Pierce. Please don't play that game. You aren't being recorded. You have he-said/she-said deniability at the moment.

I'm not really into thinking of anyone as useless. I hope you don't mind if I default to just the genius part? At least for now.

[ Meaning she's already brimming with replacement descriptors. "Cranky genius" is pretty high up the list. As is "smol genius," because never let it be said that Angel isn't a meme-loving fuck. ]

Anyway, I was thinking that if this is like what happened to us before, with the repairs? We spent a while immersed in all the data without being able to interpret it, which is why Robert Miller stepped in. He kinda modified the interface for us, if you want to put it that way?

But not this time, as you know. Which is pretty interesting, right? It seems to indicate that this was a more prepared scenario. It's not an emergency or an accident - we're supposed to be here. Probably.
