Right. I've found an SD card. Tucked inside the stuffing of one of the couches - that's a useful place to look.

[He pauses to let out a wracking cough.]

It's called Copycat. Some of you know about these already. It's gonna let me copy an app onto a blank card to give it to someone else, but it's only gonna work once. And that means the app and the person need to be chosen carefully.

If you've got an app that you think someone else needs or if you know of an app that you think you need, make your arguments here. Serious offers only. I do not want any of you wasting my fucking time.

Why does it only work once?

Yes.

SD cards are basically just means of transferring information. And the program itself

For it to only work once means there must be some sort of extra coding within it's programming that makes it stop functioning after one use.

But that would also mean it'd be possible to hack the SD card and change the programming.

[Too bad Skye's not here.]

Potentially but I'd need the right equipment to do it. Hacking isn't really something I'm great with.

Though if we could find someone that was, I could build them a means of doing so if I could get the right sort of parts.

Several people have told me. But sometimes risks are worth taking if it means solving a problem.

No problem was ever solved without risks.

Are you certain this risk isn't worth it?

Which is why determining which methods had already been tried and trying something else would be the first step.

I've already discussed making a Faraday Cage with someone here. That would allow me to bypass the system and alter the way the tablets work and, in turn, alter the means of using the SD cards potentially if I can reprogram them.

Whatever has been done already I can promise you that I can find other ways. This is the sort of thing I do for a living back home.

These sorts of oddities and strange qualities are what I dealt with a lot back home. It was the main focus of my job--figuring out the abnormal.
