[log] Day 046 | Silence in the School Yard [closed]
Characters: Clayton, Dio, House, Miranda, Ellana, Dorian, Beckett, and Brian.
Location Building 29 (aka the Party Shed).
Date: Day 46, evening, probably after lockdown.
Summary: There are a lot of people packed into an equipment shed. There's bound to be friction. Or maybe they'll get along. Sing Kumbaya... Yeah, that's probably not happening.
Warnings: Gross mold lungs, House being his general insensitive self, and so forth. Please note specific warnings in the headers!
[The shed is really not meant for eight full-sized adults. It is meant event less for eight full-sized adults who have only met for the first time that day or even just that week. It's close quarters tonight, but at least the equipment shed has some minor forms of entertainment. There are hurdles, various sports balls, giant mats to potentially sleep on, and the like. Of course, if you make any noise, everyone in the place will be aware of it. Better mind your manners.
Or not. That's always entertaining, and after a day of near absolute silence in the school, most everyone is probably starved for at least a little noise. Something other than that weird piano music coming from more than one piano. One good thing to come of all of this is that they are well stocked up on food. It's a veritable bounty!]
((OOC: This is a mingle style post. Put up a top-level and tag around to others!))

So he does, tilting his tablet to record the doctor's actions and making no move to hide the fact that he's doing so. He may approach later, or steal some of that food, but at first he's just going to watch.*
((So I dunno if Clayton would react to that or not so if you want me to edit with actual actions just lemme know!))

[Brian here does an awful lot of watching, Clayton's noticed. He doesn't mind so much; Tim gave him a good enough description to pick up who he is, that he's critically important to keep around, keep an eye on. Brian isn't the only one who's been doing the watching.]
[...Though Clayton hasn't taken that extra step and started outright recording things. He does a small double-take on seeing the tablet pointed at him, then on reflex gives it a little wave. Hello, camera. Only a few seconds later does Clayton think of something slightly more useful to say, to break the awkward silence and ensure that he keeps Brian's attention. Always have to stay interesting to these types.]
Who're you takin' that for, bud?

He likes to watchHe cants his head at the question. After a moment he points to himself then waves his hand some. Attempting to communicate "everyone" but, well, hand gestures can only do so much.*

then it's a good thing Clayton likes to perform[This is honestly more of a reaction than Clayton was expecting. It could almost be considered coherent, even--definitely out of left field for him, when his only reference for strange, possessed Operator friends is Masky and his silent, gormless staring over the network. Clayton's eyebrows arc in pleasant surprise.]
[It is not, however, quite coherent enough of a gesture for him to understand what Brian is trying to communicate. He's never been very good at charades with strangers.]
...You? [Clayton purses his lips a moment, then shrugs and gives up.] Eh, makes enough sense. You want some food, Brian? Got plenty of it.
[It's a casual offer, but there's no hiding that sudden, sharp look Clayton passes at him. He's looking for a reaction to his name. Part of him wonders if he'll even recognize it.]

It ain't no trouble, really. It's alright. [Changing tacks now. Clayton's voice is soft, deliberate, like he's trying to sooth a wild animal. He holds out a ration in the palm of his hand.] I insist. Ain't like I'm runnin' short 'r nothin'.
no subject
He considers for a few moments before snatching the ration and pulling back. He doesn't do anything with it yet, just watches to see if Clayton is going to request anything in return.*

[He watches back a moment, then chuckles and flashes a smile.]
What? Ain't gonna bite. Not 'less you do. [He pauses, quietly pondering how much he can get away with saying about Tim. Might not be the best idea in such close quarters. Idle smalltalk it is.] There anythin' else you need, bud?
no subject
He shakes his head a bit then stops and shrugs. He not yet sure what he wants from Clayton.*
no subject
Nothin' at all? Nothin' you want me t' keep an eye out for? Any buddies yer lookin' for? [He subtly raises his brows. You know, like your main squeeze Timmy?] I run into an awful lot a folks jus' runnin' 'round here, I'll bet I can find 'em.

...No medicine 'r nothin'?
no subject
He nods. Yes please, drugs kthx.*
no subject
Alright--ain't a problem, bud. There's a pharmacy 'round here, restocks medicines pretty regularly. Dangerous t' get there if you don't know where yer goin', though. I can show you the way?
no subject
He nods.*
