[log] On the One Hand [closed]
Characters: Mycroft Holmes; Ecks
Location: Building 131 (the hospital), 3rd floor
Date: Evening 286
Summary: Mycroft Holmes makes the acquaintance of a two-year-old terrorist.
Warnings: none yet
[131:The hospital is eerie in its silence, and snow presses in against many of the windows, keeping much of it in sterile darkness. It still smells like a hospital; the antiseptic is fresh, and there isn't much dust. Someone must be cleaning it, and yet it's clear no one is here. The hospital is four stories high with one basement, all connected via the elevator lobby and staircase. Unfortunately, the wall of the elevator lobby has been torn open all the way down, exposing it to the bitter air outside. While you can explore and remain on most of the floors of the hospital at night, you cannot travel between them until it's daytime once more, as the lobby seals itself up at curfew. The staircase is its own separate enclosed area, but it too seals itself off from the lobby at night, so you'll be spending an uncomfortable night on the staircase if you get stuck there.
Floors four and three are identical, large waiting areas lined with rooms. There are seven four-bed rooms, ten two-bed rooms, eight split rooms, and two VIP rooms. Each room is in pristine condition, although not decorated, but all of the rooms have been obviously gutted of their electronic components with surgical precision. As it is, it seems more like a very peculiar hotel without all of the standard equipment you would find in a hospital. The nurse's base on each floor is essentially identical in design, although there are a few different things scattered on each that seem to vary day by day.]

A pause, as he stops in the hallway, expecting something horrible to come out of one of the rooms. Maybe the morgue monster that got him previously is loose somehow.]
H...hello? I demand you show yourself!
[He's brandishing his umbrella with the piece of rubble tied to the end.]
no subject
The Ice Man?
[It comes out in a distinct monotone apart from the upward pitch at the end to carefully indicate that it is a question.]
no subject
[He's not used to hearing Ecks speak, of course, but clearly it was someone who knew him from the network, and he could easily eliminate any of the other female voices based on the intonation. There could be no one else using a monotone for any reason, at least.
He walks closer to the sound of the voice, still cautious, and his umbrella is still out.]
And I presume you're Ecks.

[She steps to the doorway, shovel hanging low but ready. She moves like a trained fighter, and sizes him up like one as well when he comes into view.]
Are you alone? I do not intend to fight.
no subject
[He stops by the doorway, lowering his umbrella so the point was at the ground. He probably looked quite a sight himself. Deerstalker hat, scruffy beard that he was continually appalled by, rain boots and mittens, and the standard Norfinbury coat, though he was layered underneath. He was tall and quite thin, and the clothes hung off of him awkwardly.
Despite the impossible he's already seen, he's still not used to the existence of sentient beings that weren't human...he's prepared, of course, and will try not to show any surprise.]
What are you doing here?
no subject
I am passing through. I have spoken to a ghost, but I do not know the meaning of what she gave me. What are you doing here?
no subject
He detests the fact that they use the word 'ghosts' for whatever the data remnants actually are, but no matter.]
You were given something? What was it?
And I'm here to perform an experiment.
[And get away from Sherlock so he wouldn't hurt or kill him the next time something ridiculous happened.]
Actually, I would like to request your help. There will be no danger to yourself, of course, I merely need to borrow your tablet.

[Oh, he most certainly knows about experimenting and dying here, Ecks.]
Yes, I'm well aware of the fact. However this will not involve risk of death. I'm merely setting up a temporary video network to feed into one central tablet, and will be observing from far away.
no subject
[She doesn't make any move to go get it, just stands there with her head a little cocked.]
From how far away will you observe?
no subject
And I was planning on observing from the pharmacy. No chance of morgue anomalies reaching me there.

[She stares at him, unblinking. This is the part where she should probably nod or something, but she doesn't.]
That is a good idea for an experiment. I will assist you.
