I'm not asking you to open up to me. We all know how it is. But let me rephrase: I'm seeing an option here to do something meaningful, which might have a lasting effect even if I fail and die. I don't get many of those.

[He is absolutely not trying to push hope on her. But he wants to do this. Needs to do this. For himself. She happens to perhaps have the means to help.]

Hiding one book among many is clever. I like that. I have noticed that in some houses any acts of reorganisation are reversed overnight, but not in others, so that may be a lead... but another part of me thinks that if it were that easy, we'd have found many more instances of the obvious effects of previous cycles.
