The longest for the current group here. If I'm doing the math right, today is day number 114. [His voice sobers.] We've been shown evidence we're not the first group, though. There may have been hundreds of others before us.

Not that we know of. People go missing sometimes, but usually their name turns up in the obituaries soon after that. If not, then they show back up on the network.

Assume you're being listened to. It's safer that way, and we already know for a fact that the Admin can access anything we send with the tablets, even if we think it's private.

But I don't mind admitting that we do have some ideas. Whether or not they're promising is another question, but at this point, I think we agree a slim chance is better than none. The current one I'm pursuing was already brought up on a public post, so mentioning it won't do any harm. I'm downtown right now, trying to find the town hall to hopefully gain access to the computer data bases that might be there. We need more information if we want to make a better plan, and that's where I hope to find it.

Because it's difficult to coordinate and communicate without using the tablets, given conditions as they are in this town. I'm not mentioning specifics of my plans, just in case, but otherwise I think it's a chance we have to take.

Are you trying to involve everyone in the town in these plans? That will make things harder, with them all spread out as they are.

Depends on the plan. Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Sometimes we don't know who we need. It's not a perfect system, and we all acknowledge that. We're working on a solution, but we're still ironing out some of the kinks.

Well, I'm military. Have been for about a decade. Special division, so the rank doesn't really translate, but it means I know how to fight. I've been here three months and haven't died yet, for what that's worth. I know my way around a computer about as well as I know a battlefield. Not what I was trained for, but a guy's gotta have a hobby, right?
